On day two of the 3 part Silver Medallion DJ Experience, we will be rocking old town Scottsdale @ the Theodore Hotel.  This is a NO COVER event in the TR Lounge so expect a laid back evening of great music and good friends. To say that this evening is going to be insane is a gross understatement…  Tonight is gonna be a foam covered, fever inducing, face-plant into the hedonistic world of Silver Medallion.  The night kicks off @ Tucson Electric Park for N9NE FEST where we are headlining the main stage in support of Girl Talk and Far East Movement.  From there, we travel to the Hotel Congress for the biggest weekly dance party in Tucson, Optimist Club.  You’ll get the full Silver Medallion DJ Experience @ Congress as Oren, Carnegie, and myself run the decks from 11:30pm – 1:00am and whip the crowd into a pulpy fury.  If you’re in southern AZ, these are the two places to be tonight so check the video below for a preview of things to come and don’t say i didn’t warn you…

Silver Medallion is making a lot of moves these days.  After bouncing between label negotiations, traveling the world, and taking over New York City, these dudes still find time to record some BANGERS with great producers!  This one comes compliments of Overwerk – the production mind behind Canada’s The Girls Can Hear Us.  Dude is flying solo now and is making some some crazy music that mixes the danceable elements of house with the bass madness of dubstep, topped off with some hip-hop vocals to keep the party moving.  Check out the promo video below… it makes me want to travel to space, find the origins of man, and dance on the grave of god.

I first made this track for Silver Medallion 2 YEARS AGO (!) and was the first remix i ever did… and it sounded like SHIT! It was about 5 minutes long with terrible audio quality and a track i would have never played for an audience.  I later took it to DJ JPaul of Havoc n’ Deed to beef it up with some mastering and while doing that, he also stripped it down to the basics.  This one remix and 2 years of learning has taught me the following lessons: “less is more” and mastering is essential. To show the difference between the beginning and end product, Im including both here so you can hear the world of difference…

Holy Gawd! Joao Brazil just don’t stop…

At the beginning of the January i did a post on the Silver Medallion blog, Get Your Swag Up, announcing Joao Brasil‘s monster project, 365 Mash-Ups, in which he creates one mash-up every single day for the entire year of 2010! Now, almost 3 months into the project, he has mashed the entire Beatles album, “Let it Be” with latin and baile funk beats underneath.  THIS SHIT IS BONKERS! The album artwork is pretty over the top too, just like most of Joao Brasil’s music.
