SUPER useful DJ tools for the working man! Ive been waiting to post this from Brooklyn as well, which makes this entry even more special. The file below contains 15 different track versions shouting out cities all over the country, from Miami to San Francisco.
Big thanks to the homie, Pickster One for making these. Check out his new website, www.picksterone.com, for TONS of useful cuts and upcoming events. Here’s what he had to say about making the tracks below…
“I grew up listening to West Coast & East Coast Hip-Hop. I’ve always been a fan of Biggie. He made so many club classics in such a short span of time , I’m convinced that you could drop a classic Biggie tune at any club night, in in city in the U.S., still today and it will go over fine, and the same for the next 10years. Which says alot considering he died 13 years ago. I’ve DJ’ed in many clubs in many cities all over the world, and have DJ homies that travel city to city all the time. So i’ve made a DJ Tool that you can use in different city’s utilizing the classic Biggie party break, ‘Where Brooklyn At?’ Flipping it up, ‘Where Phoenix At?’, ‘Where Vegas At?’, ‘Where Frisco at?’ etc. With a acapella loop at the end of the tune so you can mix into whatever you want after. (Dj Talk) haha Enjoy!”

**Born and Breed in NYC, He cut his teeth in the early 90.s honing his skills in the realm of turntablism, the sect of DJing where proficiency in kutting, scratchin, and beatjuggling define status. His time spent in the trenches battling and mastering the art form allowed him to rock shows alongside artists across the Hip Hop Spectrum – from De La Soul, The Roots, Company Flow and Biz Markie, to Kanye West, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes and Wyclef Jean.**

Wow! I was surprised and excited when Bigie suggested resurrecting the GloryHole name for a headlining engagement at Fuse Friday on July 11th, 2010. Our musical styles have changed a great deal since the last time we performed as GloryHole (opening up for MSTRKRFT at Myst in Scottsdale) and i cant wait to hear what sort of madness we end up playing. If you are looking to dance your face off at one of the coolest parties in town, then join us at Bar Smith next week!
So i linked up with local clothing icon, Bobby Fresh, to put together this slammin’ party for Cinco de Mayo. It goes down on May 5th (of coarse) in Phoenix @ the local dive, Philthy Phil’s. We’ve got some of the baddest DJs in Phoenix holding down the music for you and at midnight, it is also the birthday of not one, but two of the valley’s most notorious party rockers: DJ Bigie & Kevin MOB.
To help celebrate, there will be clothing give-aways from Bobby Fresh along with free copies of my new mixtape which they have sponsored, “Cinco de Malo“. There might even be a piñata filled with candy & crack to be busted up on the dance floor!?
All night we’re gonna be playing the best and hardest music from south of the border. If it wasn’t made or influenced by brown people, then it isn’t getting played tonight! To take care of that, we have a diverse and talented crop of DJs taking care of you all night long:
I made this edit a while ago and it really gets the job done. I remastered it the other day for my upcoming Cinco De Malo mixtape as well… Then i made this artwork and it blows hard. There’s not a lot of editing you can do in Photoshop but i try to keep it realz.
After years of rocking dance floors across the valley, DJ Bigie (aka Meanmugg) has finally dropped his first mixtape! The name says it all: dance music from numerous genres cooked to perfection and served up as a filling listen for your evening enjoyment. Baile Funk, Baltimore, Hip-Hop, Electro, Dubstep, and everything in between gets showcased in this hour long mix and even features one of my own recent remixes. Follow the link below to download non-stop or tracked out versions of the mix and satisfy your appetite for new and exciting music.
Join us for some Tuesday night mayhem @ Sanctum Nightclub with good friends and Electrostatic residents Benni Beatnik, Zachary J & Joshie. If you can’t make it to the club though, the evenings music will be simultaneously broadcast on 106.7 KWSS. Come out and enjoy Phoenix’s best mid-week club night or tune in to the show and listen live right here.
I was on Fashen’s blog a few weeks ago and saw a curious post and Youtube video about a track he produced called “One”. I couldn’t find it anywhere online so i figured i might get it form our mutual friend, graphic guy, and DJ cohort Bigie AKA Meanmugg. He did have it, and was kind enough to send it to me… so now im sharing it with you! It got me thinking of how amazing the original sample is and how its been used by so many people over the years from Diplo and Fashen currently to Public Enemy and De La Soul in the past. Keep the tradition alive by downloading all three and make your own mega-mix!
In doing some Youtube research for the post, i also found this video below, which is now the highlight of my day… if you’re an H.P. Lovecraft or Eli Escobar fan, Holla!
