Made this remix a while back and recently re-discovered it so I thought of sharing it with you all for the new year! Originally the track was a simple sketch that had a lot of potential and it quickly became the foundation of a massive remix I did with dubstep duo, Havoc N’ Deed. Now you have a beefed up “Baltimore meets baile” interpretation of a new wave classic that will leave any city in dust…
Here’s a track we’re really excited to premier live for the first time tonight. The Girls Can Hear Us tore this song a new one with their remix and were about to take it up a notch on stage this evening.
My South American homeboy, Disco Killah is killing it pretty consistently these days. After the May release of his Savage EP, Mr. Killah follows up with a stellar remix album featuring producers big and small from around the world. I am really excited to be apart of this project and to be listed next to HUGE dance music names such as DJ Chernobyl and Mr. Vega. BIG thanks to Disco Killah for including my humble moombahton remix on here and go download the entire album for FREE on the Bang Records Soundcloud page.

Here’s what the man himself had to say about the release:

I’m in the mood for dub! Much like the California Gurls Dub i did a few weeks ago, this is another pop track that is way more fun with out the vocals. The original instrumental is pretty hard to play, so i added a ton of percussion layers and beefed this baby up! Now you can throw acapellas over it, double it up, or just let it ride and get the party groovin’. Enjoy!!!
Been a long time coming but this HUGE track is finally available to the masses. Originally composed as a Baltimore-style dub of the classic Siouxsie hi, the dudes over @ HavocNdeeD saw greater potential to the song and together, we took it to the next level. Download it here in all its glory and then watch your dance floor get turned to dust when you drop this bassline monster.
I heard this song 4 days ago and all that mattered was the instrumental. The original is a pretty catchy pop number with an appropriate guest appearance by some Long Beach rapper named Snoop Dogg but what’s underneath the vocals is the real gold. This track has a definite “good times” or “first day of summer” feeling so in honor of Memorial Day and everyone having time off to relax and BBQ, I dubbed this jam and put it to work!
I just found the 12″ for Neneh Cherry’s classic “Buffalo Stance” last week and next thing I know, Buraka Som Sistema drops this CRAZY remix of the very same track! Watch the throw back music video, download the MP3′s and also check out the bonus track if you’re not already hip to it.
So good friend DJ Melo got Cinco De Mayo started in the best way possible! I was already excited for our Cinco De Malo party tonight but this shit takes it to another level!
1. He sent over his awesome new Cinco De Melo mixtape that you can grab over at his blog – www.azdjmelo.blogspot.com
2. He told me that if you go to Wikipedia and search the term “Moombahton”, both of our names appear in the article as pioneers of the genre! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moombahton)
To celebrate, i made these nice little remixes that i hope you all enjoy!
I made this edit a while ago and it really gets the job done. I remastered it the other day for my upcoming Cinco De Malo mixtape as well… Then i made this artwork and it blows hard. There’s not a lot of editing you can do in Photoshop but i try to keep it realz.
